BRUSSELS, Dec 4 (Reuters) - The following are proposed mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures under review by the European Commission, and a brief guide to the EU merger process:
APPROVALS AND WITHDRAWALS:
-- Austrian mortgage lender RBSK Group, through its subsidiary Raiffeisen Bausparkasse GmbH [RBGES.UL]; German banking and insurance firm DZ Bank (DGBGg.F), through its Bausparkasse Schwaebisch Hall AG arm; and Raiffeisen Bank SA of Romania, a subsidiary of Austrian investment and commercial bank RZB (RIBH.VI), to take joint control of Romanian mortgage lender HVB Banca pentru Locuinte SA (approved Dec. 4)
-- Iberdrola Renovables SA (IBR.MC), a renewable electricity arm of Spanish utility Iberdrola (IBE.MC), to acquire Gamesa Group's (GAM.MC) wind farm developer Gamesa Energia SAU (approved Dec. 4)
-- French banking group BNP Paribas SA (BNPP.PA) to buy Fortis (FOR.BR)(FOR.AS) Belgian and Luxembourg assets (conditionally approved Dec. 3)
