EU states agreed to ditch insurer supervision plan
BRUSSELS, Nov 19 (Reuters) - European Union member states provisionally agreed on Wednesday to strip a sweeping reform of the bloc's insurance industry of its core provision to streamline supervision of cross-border groups, diplomats said.
"There was a majority in favour. Only Britain, Ireland, Finland, Denmark and the Netherlands were against," one EU diplomat who was present at the meeting said. (Reporting by Huw Jones, editing by David Brunnstrom)
