DUBLIN, Dec 4 (Reuters) - The Irish government will give its opinion on Ryanair's (RYA.I) 750 million euro ($946.4 million) offer for Aer Lingus (AERL.I) once the budget airline has tabled a formal bid, a government spokeswoman said on Thursday.

Earlier, Ryanair updated its offer with guarantees it said would show that the takeover would not hurt competition. For story click on [nL4656015].

Ryanair Chief Executive Michael O'Leary told a news conference the airline would publish its bid for Aer Lingus within two weeks.
