ALMATY, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan's state oil and gas company KazMunaiGas said on Tuesday it was interested in buying BP's (BP.L: Quote, Profile, Research) stake in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which pumps crude from Kazakhstan to the Black Sea.

"There is certainly interest in these assets. We have told BP about that," KazMunaiGas head [KMG.UL] Kairgeldy Kabyldin told reporters. "We are starting talks now." (Reporting by Amie Ferris-Rotman and Olzhas Auyezov; Writing by Maria Golovnina; Editing by Louise Heavens)
