House prices down 5.1 pct year-on-year
LONDON (Reuters) - House prices fell 5.1 percent on a year ago in September, the government said on Tuesday, in a further sign that the housing market is deteriorating.
The Department for Communities and Local Government revised down its August reading to show a fall of 4.6 percent on the year, from a previously reported decline of 3.4 percent.
The average house price in September stood at 208,583 pounds, the DCLG said.
