LONDON (Reuters) - House prices in England and Wales fell by 10.1 percent on the year in October to their lowest level in more than two years, the Land Registry said on Friday.

The average house price in October stood at 165,529 pounds, a fall of 1.5 percent on the month.

The figures from the Land Registry are based on sale completions and therefore lag surveys by mortgage lenders which are already showing annual declines of up to 15 percent.
