Briefs-Nadal will return in peak condition, says doctor
Nov 20 (Reuters) - Sports news in brief from around the world:
Tennis - World number one Rafael Nadal will be back at his peak for the start of the 2009 season, Spanish tennnis federation (RFET) doctor Angel Ruiz Cotorro was quoted as saying.
Nadal had to pull out of the season-ending Masters Cup and Spain's Davis Cup final against Argentina after suffering from tendinitis in his right knee.
"He will begin the year 2009 at the highest possible level," Ruiz Cotorro said in an interview with As newspaper.
Soccer - Osasuna have signed defender Sergio Fernandez from Real Zaragoza as a replacement for Roversio, who is out for the rest of the season after damaging his right knee, the club said on its website (www.osasuna.es).
Fernandez will be at the struggling Pamplona club, lying bottom of the table without a win in 11 matches, until the end of the season with an option to extend his stay, Osasuna said.
