Russia says Georgia can no longer be trusted

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Georgia's military operation in South Ossetia shows Tbilisi cannot be trusted and NATO should reconsider its plans to admit the ex-Soviet state, Interfax news agency quoted a Russian Foreign ministry official as saying on Friday.

"Georgia's step is absolutely incomprehensible and shows that the Georgian leadership has zero credit of trust," said envoy Yuri Popov, sent to the region to mediate and arrange talks between the government and separatists.

Interfax quoted him as saying the international community should review prospects of Georgia joining NATO.
