US STOCKS-Wall Street rises on bank rescues, Morgan

NEW YORK, Oct 13 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose on Monday as a push by governments around the world to pump money into the clogged banking system sparked relief among investors and credit markets showed signs of loosening up.
The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 404.29 points, or 4.78 percent, at 8,855.48. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 35.63 points, or 3.96 percent, at 934.85. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was up 79.44 points, or 4.82 percent, at 1,728.95. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by James Dalgleish)
